A folly fort in County Down
The Follies Trust assisted the owner of this fort to conserve the structure.
On 14 June 2013 the Follies Trust Practical Lime Day was held at Tyrella fort.
The photos show a visit by the Follies Trust in 2016 after completion of the work. The fort was erected in the 19th century with amazing views over Tyrella beach where SS Great Britain ran aground in 1846. It is unlikely that this work would have been undertaken without the intervention of the Follies Trust.
