RICS Northern Ireland Awards 2009-10
The Knockbreda mausolea project received another accolade! This time the award is from RICS NI – a commendation in the conservation category. The citation reads:
‘Restoration of Knockbreda Mausolea…… The sympathetic restoration of these very significant mausolea in Knockbreda is a triumph and the careful research involved in restoring them with traditional materials is reflected in the quality finish of the project.’
There were a number of strong contenders in this category – the winner was St Malachy’s Church, Belfast – and only one commendation. So clearly the judges were impressed by the Follies Trust project.
