RICS Northern Ireland Awards 2009-10

The Knockbreda mausolea project received another accolade! This time the award is from RICS NI – a commendation in the conservation category. The citation reads:

‘Restoration of Knockbreda Mausolea…… The sympathetic restoration of these very significant mausolea in Knockbreda is a triumph and the careful research involved in restoring them with traditional materials is reflected in the quality finish of the project.’

There were a number of strong contenders in this category – the winner was St Malachy’s Church, Belfast – and only one commendation. So clearly the judges were impressed by the Follies Trust project.

The Follies Trust was delighted when the Knockbreda mausolea project was shortlisted in the restoration of a Georgian landscape category in 2009. The winner was Hardwick Park, Co Durham, and the Knockbreda mausolea project received a commendation. Further recognition of the Follies Trust Knockbreda project

The Follies Trust were delighted to receive a Special Mention of the Jury from Europa Nostra on 1 June 2012.

This conservation project has already received a Commendation from the Georgian Group and NI RICS.
