This single-cell mausoleum, built c.1830, has a pitched stone roof and moulded stone arcaded cornices to both side elevations. It is rectangular in shape and has six stone buttresses.

The NIAH appraisal states ‘ Located in the graveyard of Borrisnafarney church, is a stone built mausoleum to the Bloomfield family, one of whom was the founder of the early 19th century church. The execution of the design in the Gothic Revival idiom creates an austere, yet aesthetically pleasing memorial. Fine workmanship is seen in the stone roof, where slabs overlay one another, also in the stone arcading to the side elevations and again in the solid double entrance doors with metal studs. The interior name plaques, that commemorate those who lie there, ensure that history will not forget them.

The Select Vestry of Borrisnafarney were concerned about the state of the mausoleum and commissioned a condition assessment from Southgate Associates. Work commenced in early 2022 and Follies Trust was able to assist by giving a grant towards Phase 1 which involved stabilisation of the structure.
