Twenty-six Friends of the Follies Trust spent two days in Wexford and Waterford staying in Dunbrody House Hotel. First stop was Saunderscourt gate lodges which is a project being undertaken by the Irish Landmark Trust supported by the Follies Trust. Dr Edward McParland outlined the significance of the structure and, in glorious sunshine, members had the opportunity of viewing the site. Groundworks are due to start in October and it is hoped that further work will be undertaken in 2026.

The following morning Friends set off by bus for Portlaw. Dixie Dean, Lydia Inglis & the Chairman outlined the significance of this village which was once a major manufacturing hub. Our next stop was Curraghmore House where we had a fascinating tour of the house with Evelyn followed by visit to the Shell House and Chapel. 

On the last day we visited Park House, Wexford, which has an eclectic mix of unusual follies. As ever this was a very enjoyable, sociable get together with the added joy of visiting some fascinating follies.
